We are excited to announce the breeding of Diamond to Grip.   From the first time we met Grip, we've loved this dog and wanted to breed to him.   Grip personifies our ideal Golden Retriever -- out-going, confident, athletic, full of drive and desire to work, focused and intense at work, yet at home he can relax and be a joyful and loving companion.

At 6 years old, Grip's accomplishments are impressive.  He is owner-trained and handled.    Grip earned his AKC Master Hunter title, qualifying for the Master National where he ran and passed!  In his first two field trials, Grip won (!) the Qualifying stake, and earning the AKC's new QA2 title.   Spring 2017 Grip passed a UKC HRC Grand hunt test and earned his Grand HRCH title; only the 17th Golden Retriever to ever do so!

Grip is a moderate dog, sound and athletic.   65 pounds in hard working condition.  He carries a dark red easy-care coat.   Full dentition.  Dark pigment.  Grip has sired several litters of puppies and those youngsters are showing great promise in the field.

Diamond is "drive" personified, high energy, always ready to GO(!) in the field.   Whatever the game, she is willing to give it a try.   She would work and train all day, if we could keep up with her.  Diamond is a problem solving dog who can work independently with confidence, yet is also bidable and willing to work with her handler in training.   Diamond is a small girl, fine-boned (50 lb), and standing 21.5 inches at the shoulder.  She is a natural athlete, and maintains rock solid natural muscle tone.  She is medium blonde in color, with a correct texture working-type coat.

At present, Diamond has her AKC Senior Hunter title, and is training towards Master level field work.  With minimal training, Diamond easily earned her Companion Dog obedience title in three straight trials, with high scores and all first placements.

Diamond's first two breedings have produced confident, active, high drive puppies with strong love of water.   Many are training in field, obedience, agility, and nosework, and starting to earn titles.  Two are working as diabetic alert dogs.  Another is training and certified for avalanche search/rescue work.

We expect  puppies that will grow up to be small to moderate size dogs, fine-boned, strong, sound and extremely athletic.  They are likely to have plenty of energy and high drive and desire to train, work, and hunt.  These puppies will need plenty of both mental and physical exercise.   They should excel as hunting retrievers and in performance competition such as obedience, agility, tracking, and hunt tests.  They will be excellent prospects for search and rescue work.

Diamond was bred mid-June.  Puppies are due August 26, 2018, and will be ready to go home mid-October.

Our  Puppy Sales Policies

Puppies are sold ONLY to approved homes.    We breed for an active working/hunting retriever and top notch competition dog.   This litter may not be suitable for families seeking a calm, laid-back dog.    For Diamond's puppies, we are seeking homes with prior experience raising a retriever puppy, and who desire a high energy active dog.

A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of whelping to reserve a puppy in the litter; we reserve the right to return any deposit and cancel any pending puppy sale.    We require a written sale contract for each puppy sold.   Pet puppies are required to be spay/neutered;  this is not negotiable.   Sale contracts for performance pups to be sold intact are negotiated on an individual basis.   We prefer to not ship puppies; out-of-town buyers should be willing to travel here to meet us and pick up their puppy in person.

After your puppy goes home, we will be available to you to assist in whatever way we can as you raise your puppy.    We are happy to answer questions about puppy rearing and training.  If at any time, at any age, for any reason, you can no longer continue to care for your puppy, we require that you return the dog to us and we will take responsibility for finding it another good home.  We will always be here to help any dog of our breeding.   We do expect that our puppy buyers will keep the lines of communication open and keep in contact with us throughout the lifetime of the dog.
